Photos show an early production Carbine receiver from the Korean War era. China made receivers, trigger housings and some few smaller parts. Production is generally believed to have stopped by 1953-54. While China might have liked to build the Thailand carbines, Howa of Japan won out. Howa's work for the US Army rebuilding both M1 Carbines and Rifles semed to have paid off.
